A Triangle Arts Trust Workshop
A Foundation hosts COAST

August 2007

In 1999 and 2001,  two UK international artists workshops took place near Barmouth in North Wales. These workshops, called Cyfuniad, were co-ordinated by Lin Holland and Becky Shaw, together with a working group of artists primarily based in Liverpool. The two Cyfuniad Workshops collectively brought together more that 45 artists from around the globe to live and work together for periods of two weeks. The workshops had a profound impact upon many of the participants and their practices and led to Liverpool artists being invited to India, South Africa and Brazil for residencies and further collaborative experiences. Cyfuniad is part of a global network of workshops based on the Triangle workshop model which over the past 24 years has extended to more that 30 countries worldwide with more that 3,500 participating artists.

The 2007 Liverpool workshop titled COAST, will saw 25 artists, 15 from abroad living and working in Liverpool for two weeks. The workshop was based in The Furnace and Blade Factory Buildings on Greenland Street and culiminated in an open day where members of the public were invited to meet the artists and see work produced.
